On May 5, 2024, a data security incident occurred at SGH/Atlas Oil company. We believe the malicious attack was the result of a phishing vulnerability that allowed the ransomware to access and exfiltrate sensitive company and personal team member information. As a result of this incident, your personal information may have been exposed to others. Please be assured that we have taken every step necessary to address the incident.
Since the incident occurred, we have been in close contact with both the Federal Bureau of Investigation Cyber Criminal Squad and the Michigan State police Cyber section Intelligence Operations Division. We are requiring all users to login through a VPN and use Multi Factor Authentication when logging into our network. Additionally, we have launched a robust investigation supported by internal and external cybersecurity experts, and we are regularly reviewing and updating the measures we take to protect your information.
We believe it is critical to always remain transparent with our team members through this process and provide accurate information and resources. With this in mind, please review the information to follow, the email communications previously sent from the company’s IT and Legal departments, along with any future communications, as they will provide you with the most accurate and up to date information.
